Chronic Bloating? You Probably Need a Gut Reset

-

Chronic Bloating? We've All Been There...

Over the past few years, you’ve probably noticed that everybody has started to openly complain about bloating. It could be your mother, your best friend, or even your coworker (who clearly thinks you’re close enough for that). Bloating has become such a universal experience that you can talk to anyone about it – they’re probably bloated too.

Why is it that so many of us eat a healthy diet and regularly exercise, but we still inexplicably manage to bloat? Fortunately, the answer is pretty simple:

You’re not looking after your gut health.

I know, you’re probably rolling your eyes and thinking that it would be impossible to fix your gut on top of everything else going on in your life. We anticipated this, which is why we did all of the hard work for you. For an easy gut reset, click here (link).

Unfortunately, supplements alone are not enough to maintain a healthy microbiome. Here’s a list of what you could be doing along with a Reset to kick the bloating for good:

1/ Ease up on the meat

When you decrease the amount of meat you consume and increase the amount of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and whole grains in your diet, changes in your microbiome begin after even just a day. This shift spurs the growth of Prevotella bacteria, which are gut microbes that thrive on the cellulose and xylans found in the cell walls of such plant-based foods. Your microbiome starts to diversify very quickly, and the short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) that result from your plant-centric diet help to heal all of the gut damage done by our traditional Western diet. All of this leads to less bloating, among other benefits.

2/ Look after your mental health

Believe it or not, ignoring your therapist’s calls could be exacerbating your bloat. There is a distinct gut-brain connection, which isn’t too hard to believe. When you’re stressed, you feel sick to your stomach. When you’re nervous or excited (or both), you feel butterflies in your stomach. Anxiety and stress oftentimes manifest themselves in our digestive tract. This means that we all must prioritize our mental health along with our physical health, because there’s so much overlap between the two.

3/ Consume more probiotics

This should not come as a surprise. Even though Reset provides a great probiotic supplement in addition to many other things, everyone should still consume probiotics in their everyday diets. Luckily, a lot of probiotic foods are delicious! Kimchi, sauerkraut, miso, kombucha, and even red wine (if you’re legal, of course.) We’re officially giving you permission to go out for Korean BBQ and drink vino with your besties.

But Remember, Bloating is Normal!

With that being said, a bit of bloating is completely normal, natural, and good - as long you’re doing what you can to look after your gut health. Sometimes a salad really is just a lot of roughage, and that’s okay.
